Accountable Care Organization

What is an Accountable Care Organization?

An Accountable Care Organization (ACO) is a provider network that partners with the Federal Government to service Medicare Patients. Statera Health is not an Accountable Care Organization. We are a CIN, which is a commercial and private form similar to an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). A CIN defines the providers that make up the network by including physicians and hospital(s). CIN initiatives are selected by local providers, whereas ACO initiatives are selected by the government. CINs are generally upside risk only while ACOs assume downside financial risk.
